Underarmour 7 v 7; Revised Pioneer Season Schedule

Today I want to touch on this Saturday's UnderArmour 7 v 7 tournament as well as take a look at the revised Pioneer season schedule.

The Pioneers will once again be participating in this tournament to be held at Bishop Fenwick High School this Saturday, July 26th, beginning at 10 am. Here is the complete schedule and the field layout.
Lynnfield is in the "G" group along with Essex Tech, BB&N, Lynn English, and Lawrence. There are a total of eight groups and the top two teams in each group move on to the playoffs. Here's a link to the game rules.

A total of 40 teams are participating in the tournament.


2014 Schedule
If you're itching to watch the Pioneers cavort on their very own, brand new turf field, you're going to have to be just a little more patient. In a scheduling change made to provide more time for the new field to be completed, the season opener game against Pentucket has been shifted from a home game to an afternoon away game in West Newbury on September 6. That will be followed by three more road tilts against Newburyport, Amesbury, and Manchester-Essex.

After four straight road games, the Pioneers will return home for the big Friday night home opener on October 10 against Georgetown under the lights to christen the new field. At this point, there is only one more night game scheduled at home, but that could change. The final three games won't be scheduled until post season playoff participants have been set. The Pioneers will likely have another home game or two of those final three games.

The annual Thanksgiving Day game against North Reading will also be played on the new field which is an added attraction to the rivalry contest.

The Pioneers also have a bye this year in week three. That will be the week after the two non-league games and before the league opener.

Thursday, November 27 - Thanksgiving Day game home vs North Reading, 10:30 am

Preseason practice kicks off August 18th, less than a month away.
